For K12 educators interested in learning more about R, data science, and AI, we're offering an asynchronous teacher version of our bootcamps - at a highly subsidized cost. The asynchronous modules include videos, coding exercises, support forums, and live office hours to help you complete the bootcamps at your own pace.

Low-Cost Tuition: $45

Location: Online, asynchronous.

Timing: Self-paced (start and finish at any time). The bootcamp consists of 9 modules; each module should take about 2 hours to complete.

Prerequisites: No coding or stats experience is required, but experience teaching statistics or computer science is helpful.

Teachers who complete the bootcamp earn a certificate for 18 hours of training and can apply to become paid instructors for the student summer bootcamps! (note: availability of positions depends on student demand, see FAQ below)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I register now and complete it later? Is there a deadline to complete the course?
After registering, you can complete the course at any time. There is no deadline. However, note that office hours are only offered during the summer months (June - August).

What happens if I can only complete part of the course?
If you complete the full course, you'll get a certificate of completion for 18 professional development hours. However, if you can only complete part of the course, you can still request a certificate for partial completion at any time. These certificates award hours in proportion to the number of modules completed.

Are there opportunities for collaboration and support?
Even though the modules are self-paced, you are not alone! The course involves Q&A Forums and live office hours with data science experts.

How do I become a paid instructor for the synchronous student bootcamps over the summer?
Any teacher who fully completes the asynchronous bootcamp will become eligible for a role as a paid instructor. Note that eligibility is not a guarantee of an offer. The availability of summer positions depends on student demand. If the demand is high enough to support new positions, we'll reach out to eligible instructor candidates in the spring based on the quality of their submitted asynchronous bootcamp projects. From there, candidates will be interviewed and final selections will be made.
