Practice Problems & CED Alignment
This past spring, we sent out our annual teacher survey, asking what we could add to our AP Stats lessons to make them better. Over and over, respondents asked for two items:
Practice problems
More visible CED alignment info
So, just in time for the new school year, we've updated our AP Stats materials with...
1. Full sets of practice problems for every AP Stats handout (all freely available)
Over the summer, AP Stats teacher and exam reader Meredith Kempson-Borden got to work writing full sets of practice problems for every Skew The Script AP Stats lesson. These problems are now freely available at the end of each lesson handout, with solutions in each handout key. For a nice example, check out the handout and handout key for Lesson 1.3 (Describing Quantitative Data).
We hope this extra, AP-level practice helps your students hone their skills and achieve greater fluency, while also lightening your teacher prep load :). Special thanks to Meredith for her work creating these problems and to fellow AP Stats teacher and exam reader Corey Andreasen for reviewing them!
2. More visible CED alignment info on website
Although our lessons fit nicely with the sequencing of the AP Stats CED, the info we provided on aligning our lessons with the CED was usually buried at the end of the lesson handouts or on somewhat-hard-to-find pages on our website.
To make the alignment more clear, we've added labels for CED topic alignment across our...
We hope making this information more visible helps with planning - especially for new AP Stats teachers. Of course, with the course framework potentially updating in the 2026-27 school year, we'd make sure to update the materials to reflect any future changes.
That's it for now! As always, thank you for making your voice heard and providing the feedback that led to these improvements in our materials :). As the summer starts to wind down and the school year approaches, we hope these new resources prove useful!
Let's skew it!
